Down with doggy-breath. Up with pearly-whites!
Just as dentists tell us to brush our teeth for two minutes twice daily, floss and use mouthwash to prevent tooth decay, we must do things to keep our pets’ mouths healthy. A combination of brushing, chewing, water-additives and special foods will significantly slow the onset of tooth and gum disease.
However, in some cases, just like we go to a dental hygienist, dogs and cats may need their teeth scaled and polished before tooth loss and advanced oral disease sets in.
Dr Amanda Fischmann has a particular interest in veterinary dentistry, and has undertaken further training in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Health. She oversees our dental department together with nurse Meagan.
Prevention is always better than cure – so give us a call, or book an appointment, to see how we can help you better prevent dental disease in your pet.
