At Frankston Heights Veterinary Centre, our Puppy Preschool is designed to give new pet parents the knowledge, confidence and support they need to raise a happy, well-adjusted dog. The early weeks of a puppy’s life are critical for learning and what your puppy experiences between 8 and 16 weeks will shape their behaviour for years to come.
Our 5 week Puppy School program, proudly led by qualified puppy trainers and experienced veterinary nurses, is held at the clinic in our Lifestages Centre and combines fun, learning and lifelong support for both owners and pups.
What’s included in our Puppy School program
Each session is built around positive reinforcement, gentle handling and real-world experiences that help your puppy grow into a calm, confident companion. The program includes:
- Positive Learning Experiences
- Critical Exposures in a relaxed and safe environment
- 45 minute, safe, on-lead sensory socialisation
- Puppy Free information night which the whole family can attend
- Professional advice on basic preventative puppy health care
- Information on why puppies act the way they do
- Positive training techniques, practiced in class
- Advice and support for challenging undesirable behaviours
- Lifelong access to digital support materials and videos
- Continued individual phone or email support from the Puppy Preschool team
- Positive vet clinic exposure with a behind the scenes tour of the clinic for you and your puppy
- Toys and giveaways
